Why Leadership Training is Essential

Are you in sales? Are you in network marketing? Are you in real estate? No matter your area of business, or even if you’re in business at all, you have experienced objections. That’s just the nature of life. Drew challenges this nature with a few tips that will help you combat these objections and either avoid them or use them to your advantage.

Drew focuses on the tips provided in John Maxwell’s “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You” in order to hammer in the principle that leadership training is essential within your network marketing company. He distributes quotes and a quadrant chart to teach you how to go from entry level leadership to next level leadership!

Why is leadership important? Some of you may be wondering why it is necessary for you to have to lead and tell people what to do, but that’s just what some people need. Some of your team need to be told what to do and how to do it, and it’s YOUR job to get them to the next level in their own work by seeing the bigger picture within them. You should see them wearing bigger shoes, playing a bigger game, and having a bigger vision than they think of themselves.

What if you don’t have a team yet? What if you are still looking for that group of network marketers who are going to take your company to the top? Maxwell says, “It is possible for a leader to go out and recruit people unlike himself but those are not the people he will naturally attract” (Maxwell). Think about that for a minute. You could attract some people that are not necessarily like you. You could attract people at a higher vibration than you, but they’re not necessarily the ones that are going to stick around. Leaders attract leaders, so you’re going to want to be in the most positive and productive mindset possible before you even start searching for you team, and “If you think your people are negative, then check your attitude” (Maxwell).

It’s also important to keep in mind that “Leadership doesn’t develop in a day. It takes a lifetime” (Maxwell) This is a lifetime study of how to constantly get better: “The Four Phases of Leadership Growth” will help you understand where you might be and where you need to go. In the top left quadrant: INEFFECTIVE. Top right quadrant: EFFECTIVE. Bottom left quadrant: UNAWARE. Bottom right quadrant: AWARE. So in the top left hand quadrant you are unaware that you are ineffective. “You don’t know what you don’t know”. Now, you can evolve to being ineffective and aware, knowing that you have room for growth. After that, you can evolve to being aware and effective, which means “you grow and you know it starts to show”. So, it’s great that you’re now effective, but now you want to evolve to being effective and unaware. I simply go because of what I know.

So, you evolve from:
“I don’t know what I don’t know”
“I know what I don’t know”
“I grow and know it starts to show”
“I simply go because of what I know”

Now you know a few of the vital tips to think about when examining leadership, but these are, by far, not the only tips. Whether you’re just now getting into network marketing or you’ve been in it for years and years, Drew could possibly be the person to help you further your training and get to the next level personally and with your company.
